NLP and The Mind
Say NLP and automatically you think Mind Control.
Is that fair?
NLP was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder to model excellence. In other words, it was a tool to execute flawless human behavior. Pop culture , on the other hand, associated it with the darker side.
NLP Mind Control Techniques was the perceived ultimate goal of those who started practicing neurolinguistic programming. Early adherents thought that with the use of prescribed gestures, specific power phrases and even breathing exercises, one can create an aura of influence over others. Persuasion can result effortlessly.
Is this true?
Yes. To a certain extent
Here's how prescribed NLP techniques lead to mind control.
1. By changing your own emotions, you change the emotions of others. It's a basic tenet that to sway belief, one must act in utter conviction of that belief. Think about this- when you were very happy, didn't others ultimately act happy. To convince people, you must show people your convition.
2. Use power phrases. Special NLP conversational hypnosis dialogue can lull people into complacency and trance. Here's an example: "As you sit there, reading this, thoughts go into your head as you wonder how all this can benefit you."
Think about that. Weren't you nodding yes? Conversational hypnosis sites emphasize the use of pacing and leading to get this response
